My $100K ARR App Costs $4,198/Month to Run (Full Breakdown)

Descriptions:

Here’s a full line-by-line breakdown of every dollar it costs to run Yorby, a $120K ARR startup, coming in at $4,198 a month.

A few months ago I made a video showing that my app was making $5K a month and somehow turning $0 profit. That video broke down every cost at the time, which came out to just over $3,000 a month. Now that we’ve crossed $100K ARR and are running at around $10,300 a month in revenue, I wanted to do the same exercise again and see where we actually stand.

The short version: revenue more than doubled, but costs only went from $3K to $4.2K. We went over every service we pay for including Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Apify, Kling, Google Cloud, Claude, Codex, PostHog, and a bunch of others. I also get into where we think we can cut costs significantly by self-hosting more of our infrastructure and moving some LLM usage off the frontier model providers.
