Edge & Node draws on prior art from a 2021 micropayment system built for The Graph, and has been contributing to the x402 specification since its Coinbase release in late 2024.
The demo portion shows a direct comparison between Claude Code with the Ampersend skill file installed versus a standard Claude Code instance, using a real-world task of finding the contact details of Mastercard’s head of crypto and blockchain. The standard agent hits a wall and returns a guess at an email format; the Ampersend-equipped agent autonomously pays for access to premium MCP tools in the background and returns specific verified data. The session positions Ampersend’s marketplace and skill-file approach as an aggregator that handles payment to paid MCP servers transparently, with enterprise budget guardrails and full transaction observability built in.
