Summary
Free AI video generators promise a lot, but do they hold up once you factor in queues, watermarks, and credit limits? Youri van Hofwegen tests five of them with the exact same prompt, a woman in a gray sweater pouring coffee into a white mug with morning light from the left, and times each one.
The tools covered include Pavo AI, Digen, AI Free Video, ModelScope, and Google Vids. Along the way the video documents real numbers: Pavo’s free Agnes Video 2.5 Flash model took almost five minutes, produced 720p with sound, and carried a watermark. Digen’s supposedly free models consumed 81 credits for 15 seconds of footage, and one came out vertical despite a 16:9 setting. AI Free Video produced a watermark-free five-second clip with no sound after more than nine minutes. Google Vids was the fastest at about 31 seconds, with sound, a small star mark, and an invisible SynthID watermark, but it caps personal accounts at six AI videos per month.
The video ends with a ranking of all five, then a 30-second project made on the free route and compared with the same video made on the sponsor’s platform, Higgsfield. It is a practical guide for creators deciding whether free tools are enough for their projects.
