Descriptions:
Alibaba’s Qwen team quietly dropped two new preview models—Qwen3.7 Max and Qwen3.7 Plus—onto Qwen Chat, and Fahd Mirza wasted no time putting the flagship through real-world paces. In this hands-on session, Mirza tasks Qwen3.7 Max with building a complete self-healing cron monitor web application for an Ubuntu server—a full-stack project involving a SQLite database layer, a Telegram notification system, and a systemd service. The model generates all the code in a single shot, which Mirza packages into a shell script and deploys successfully on his live server with no manual dependency hunting.
The results are striking: the app installs its own dependencies, registers and monitors cron jobs, streams live logs, and triggers self-healing retries—all without manual intervention. Mirza also tests Qwen3.7 Plus on a multilingual challenge, prompting it to produce famous opening lyrics in over 75 languages written in native script, with cultural commentary for each entry.
On the Chatbot Arena leaderboard, Qwen3.7 Max Preview lands at position 13, outranking Grok 4.20 and GPT-5.2 Chat while sitting below the Claude Opus 4 family and the top GPT-5.5 tiers. Both models are currently cloud-only and thinking-mode-only, with no open weights released yet—though Mirza says he will revisit them the moment open weights land.
