Summary
Anthropic has added a Motion feature to Claude, letting users create animated videos from a single written message. This walkthrough shows how to use it from the Claude desktop app, where Motion is found under Artifacts. It is currently in beta on Team and Enterprise plans, and the companion Claude Dashboards feature is available on paid plans.
The presenter builds a range of examples: a cutout-style explainer on how banking works, a 20-second visual explanation of compound interest, a 30-second animated recap of team metrics, a year-in-review growth video, a five-second logo reveal, and a 20-second mobile app teaser. Unlike AI video generators, Claude writes each animation as code, so changes such as slowing the pacing or matching brand colors are made by simply asking. Finished clips export as MP4 and can be polished further in Adobe Firefly.
The video also shows how to turn an existing blog post into a 30-second animated summary, a way to repurpose old content for LinkedIn, newsletters, and social media. The key takeaway is a prompting tip: adding one descriptive paragraph about color, easing, and number animations, written the way a director would brief a designer, makes results look far more polished than a generic prompt.
